Hi Ingrid, Thanks for your comment. To answer your question... yes of course but they haven't happened for a while.

Hi Ingrid. The live thawing ideas come from the idea that our 4 dimensional reality is the reflection or projection of movement in 11 dimensional space. I liked the idea of a 4D event being projected and experienced as 2D. Also its important for me to keep the workings hidden, and to highlight the difficulty that occurs in trying to pin down an actual 'event' amongst the continual development of the work. So are you melting sculptures made of ice? what is the nature of the sculptures? Paul

Hi Ingrid. I took part in a group show in 2006 at the now closed Start Contemporary Art Gallery. I joined CAN to hopefully get some dialogues going with artists in the brighton area, because its the nearest place to me with anything interesting going on. Although my work is restricted to painting at the moment (due to lack of funds, contacts etc..) i do have a few installation and film type ideas. Ive uploaded some of them to my profile now, feel free to have a look. Your work looks exciting, I would love to have the opportunity to expand my practice. Paul

Hi Ingrid. glad to see the sight expanding and your work looks fantastic. I am busy organising the Environmental Art project for May, and also of the Norway and then France for residencies, and then doing a show with my sister in Glasgow later in year. ar

Hi Ingrid. Thanks for the comment. Im based in Horley near Gatwick Airport, how about you? My dissertation was on the relationship between chance and control in the creation of art. One of my original starting points in my first year in 2002 was john cage

Artist Statement
My work mainly consists of site-specific installations using video, sound, sculpture and live performances, often involving a spatial arrangement of screens, monitors and objects to create dialogues between visuals and the spaces they are shown in. I particularly like working in video because it causes us to experience the past simultaneously with the present. The sound in my work comprises of soundscapes I create myself using original recordings. I have also directed performers and involved sculptural elements such as glass, helium balloons and huge clusters of handmade objects such as origami birds as part of my installations. As co-founder of CAN, I want to create an easier way for Artists to network and give each other feedback. Enjoy!
